CRANSTON, R.I. (WPRI) — Firefighters worked throughout the night putting out hot spots after a massive brush fire burned more than two acres in a Cranston neighborhood Monday. Firefighters responded to Eva lane and Locust Glen Drive and found flames shooting from the woods.

A new brush fire has developed in the Blue Hills State Reservation, sending smoke into surrounding Massachusetts communities.

Hillside Street in the Blue Hills Reservation is closed until further notice as fire crews continue to work on extinguishing brush fires that first broke out Monday across 40 acres of the 7,000-acre property managed by the state's Department of Conservation and Recreation.
