The return of freshman quarterback DJ Lagway was the spark Florida football needed, as the Gators stunned No. 22 LSU with a 27-16 victory at The Swamp.

The Florida Gators had four offensive starters listed as questionable on their initial injury report for the LSU game, but two of them have been cleared. And they’re big names: quarterback DJ Lagway and receiver Elijhah Badger.

Lagway’s quick release, arm strength and deep-ball accuracy are rare, perhaps unprecedented even at a school with three Heisman Trophy-winning quarterbacks. The closest comparison might be the man who served as Honorary Mr. Two Bits Saturday, 2001 Heisman runner-up Rex Grossman — the school-record holder with 17 300-yard passing yards.
